This is one of the worst stinkers that I have seen in a long time. Absolutely wretched CG blood, CG monsters, crappy dialogue, plot holes big enough to drive a Mack truck through, etc. Personally, the anime wasn't that good either (when stacked up against, say, Dead Space), but this movie takes the cake. Avoid like the plague.

This movie is completely bananas. I loved every second of it a great adaptation to a cult animae classic. Blood The Last Vampire absolutely ill. Swordfights, vampires and demons sounds like a fun time to me. This film was full of fights and deaths th...ey were not shy on the gore. This is a film that I am highly empressed with I just wish that it was not a limited release movie and that people knew about it. This film is a must see in this horror hound and comic book geeks opinion. Its like Blade only good. Pleasure Overload Pleasure overload.

Wow, to think such a film, based on the amazing anime, would get such a terrible review here...doesn't really surprise me. The reviewers here tend to be a little bass-ackwards.

Fans of the original Blood: The Last Vampire anime may be surprised or let down. The film covers the anime in about the first 45 minutes or so, lending a bit more storyline to what's going on than the original did, and tries to blend in elements from the series Blood +. Having not seen the series yet, but going on the word of my girl who has, they succeed and fail at the same time.

However, this is a very faithful adaptation of the original. The action is not the greatest ever made (how could it be?), but still very fast paced and exciting. And as stated before, the story seems to expand a bit from the original anime. I remember watching the original, and after it was over I felt like I had only been sitting there a half hour, like there really wasn't much to it in the end do to a lack of knowing exactly what was going on. This flick covers that, and then some.

The original was epic, this was really good. If you're a fan, you'll see it without me telling you to. If you never heard of Blood before this, go check out the anime and the series if possible. Or just go on the one sentence reviews from all the other haters on this site.

This is a great little horror/action, and I recomend it.

Effects were horrible, had to shut it off half way through the movie, because it was jsut ridiculous.

Don't bother with this one.

This Was Truely Terrible. What a waste of Film. It only managed to make a whole lot of great British Actors look like rank amature,s. Its Script was week and inconsistant and the Direction was non existant. I'd give this one a miss if i were you........

the anime version was awesome
this version shouldent even be on this site
as its not meant to be a horror and its not meant to be gorey, its just meant to be a japanese culture type film about a vampire slayer, no its not meant to be as gorey as saw or anything, its not a japanese horror like the old grudges so what do you expect?!

The animated version was much better. This is nothing but a waste of energy. 1/10

I don't really have much to say other than what has already been said about the exaggerations of the blood and the killings. All the action is very, very fast. It almost gives you a headache.

Although, the film explains a "TAD" bit more than the anime version does. If you have not seen the anime version, please watch that first before you watch the live-action film. And if you have seen the anime version, then you're not really missing much. Only a few minor changes, but it just doesn't fit well together like the anime version did.

The film wasn't boring, though. It was packed with action, but it was just...FAKE. If you don't really care about that and you just want to be entertained, then feel free to watch it.

It sucks for me to be negative about it, but the movie stills had me very excited to see this, but then it ended up being a let down at the end.

Anime version > This (I'm giving it 2 skulls for the action. It was a good attempt, but not enough for a 3rd skull.

Just because a film is better than the lowest common denominator crapapollza you get on ,ugh, SYFY doesn't make a film decent. CGI blood is probably the worst thing to happen to the horror genre in the last 5 years.

This movie was entertaining, the special effects were not that good but its defiantly better than your average sci-fi channel movie.

MrDisgusting's review nailed it right on the head. Much of this movie was just plain unwatchable. I guess you could show it a little love based on the "so bad it's good" notion, but ... no, it's just so bad it's bad. Don't waste your time.

I thought this one was pretty cool, there was a lack of a plot but then again the original didn't have one past a half vampire school girl killing vampires on a military base. the only other thing that made this one weak was the blood, there was nothing but CG blood which was bad some of the time..some scenes reminded me of 300, overall though it was a good, fun hour and 25 minutes, so when it gets released on DVD pick it up!
