Forget anything about plot or story structure. This film is all about the gore! The action is fast and furious, the body count is high and the violence is extreme! There is one kill that is groin grabbling painful to watch. Yes its utterly ridiculous but thats what makes it fun.

It was as if they gave no thought at all to this remake but instead just threw together the plot at the last second. Don't waste your time with this one.

This film was terrible in my opinon. I remember waiting for it to come out and when i saw it i couldn't believe what i paid for. Maybe a movie rental but not worthy of owning.
While obviously this film wasn't better than Alex Aja's Remake, it was still pretty entertaining to me. There were some cool gory moments and the acting while bad wasn't atrocious. Defintely worth a look if your a gore hound.

It was a really bad movie but still a bit entertaining if you don't have anything else to do. If you compare it to the first one from 2006 and the original from 1977(That doesnt seem to have any page on this site! Shame on you Bloody Disgusting!) this movie is complete crap.
The mutants almost look the same all of them. They are not as creative as the ones in the fisrt film thats for sure. Still it is a bit entertaining so 3/10.
The first was great, but this wasn't so good. The Hills Have Eyes 2 is set in the same place as the first, with a similar plot and some re - cycled ideas. But, The Hills Have Eyes 2 is a gory as hell slasher movie, but doesn't do enough to get a great score. It isn't that scary, but has some jumps in there to make you look away, but again, nothing that special. The make up effects of the canibals are basically the same, with some obvious mistakes in there, but, it trys hard enough to provide good entertainment.
Overall, a gory as hell horror movie, but just not enough to make it better than the first. But, roll on the third!
portapotty jack in the box man and slimy tounge deepthroat rape ways give this abused hooker of a film two stars for them two things mentioned but even at that don't see this piece of old hardened cake that's been in the fridge since last Thanksgiving.
This is a very good horror movie. If you wanna get scared then c this movie. Its 1 of the most disturbing movies ive ever seen. Idk if its better than the first but its very close. Very gory and bloody and disturbing.
I haven't seen the first one,but I heard it's better than this.
I didn't really like it. It was boring but i guess it's because I wasn't paying attention but when I was it was bad. Exept some parts.
hahaha man i was so looking forward to this. but what a disappointment, the worst piece of shit film ive seen in the past 10 years. not one redeeming quality to this garbage. worst acting, worst death scenes and a loveable down syndrome mutant like goonies?????? wtf!!! wes craven should denounce this and say they drugged him and faked his signature to greenlight this insult to horror.
Godawful... There's nothing else to describe this wretched suckquel other than that word. Can't believe Wes Craven is responsible for this abomination.
good better than the BD review gave it credit for not as great as the first movie, but certainly not a bad movie and not worth the criticism it recieves

The first half an hour was great it was gory and fun but the next half wasn't very good. The soldiers decided to go to in the tunnel where you cant see a thing! You couldn't see what was going on! Thats what spoiled it. The Hills Have Eyes 1 is a lot better just watch that and don't bother with this one its a rip off

OK. Although I would've preferred the original plot of Brenda Carter joinging the army, and going back, her actress Emilie De Raven was to busy shooting "Lost" to join this cast. The movie was ok to watch but, is no where near as great as its preceeder. The plot was crap, with the mutants now living in the mountains, not in the mines, what the hell?.
The plot was stupid because the mutants are different characters, they live in the mountains now and not in the mines, unless this is a different part of the Sector, but I don't care.
The acting was ok, with Jessica Stroup stealing the limelight as the strong newcomber to the force.
Overall "The Hills Have Eyes 2" is not a great sequel but an allright movie by itself. My rating is 3/5
This movie had verry little ties to the previous film. Witch maybe the problem with the film to alot of you people. I knew what I was getting into when I first saw the movie the film was exactly what I thought it was going to be less plot more violence. Also their was no returning cast members. This movie is esentually a B movie but a entertaining one at that. Although a contination of the preious film could have been interesting.

once again who let the idiots of the world rate this movie? this movie had good acting, a good plot, and good gore to top it off. sometimes i think there are no horror fans on this website just horror critics
Just average... this could have been a lot better had it not been for the incorporation of such an unrealistic bunch of marines. Aja's is far superior and should definately be viewed before this cluncker
Complete rubbish. You think being written by Wes Craven and his son it would have been decent but no, a complete travesty. The dialouge was well, dire , no suspense and totally boring . The rape scene towards the end was utterly disgusting. Dont bother, watch the Aja once instead, far superior.
Honestly one of the worst movies I have ever seen. It lacked everything that made the first one so good. The first one was really horrifying, as was its remake but this one was a blatant attempt at targeting the less than dedicated fans of this genre who may not know any better than to avoid at all costs movies where the original director has jumped ship. The first scene really had me sucked in, only to let me down more than I though possible. The scares were predictable if not tacky, (the porta potty scene). The mistakes were so numerous, I found myself getting distracted completely from the movie. The only bad thing about putting the military into movies is that they are hardly ever accurately portrayed. For another awful example, see the remake of Day of the Dead, the one with Nick Cannon. Overall, a terrible movie and I will always regret those 90 mins misspent.

I think the movie was pritty bad. I liked the idea of them going into the caves. But it fell way short. I was looking forward to being as good as the remake. But sadly it didn't deliver. Maybe will see better work from gorge romero in the future.

I've seen a lot worst....

Was not a huge fan of this movie. I thought the first was a hell of a lot better then this one. The rape scene disturbed me a lot
Not nearly as bad as the BD review makes out... jesus. It had terrible friggin acting (funny so) but the death scenes were pretty creative and alot of fun and its always fun seeing those whacked mutants again. And + isent a movie like this meant for the kills?? How cool and unique can we get?? -- that being said the first one And the original were far better :-)
Writing credits: Wes Craven (written by) & Jonathan Craven (written by)Wes Craven (characters)...call me crazy but I've heard Alex Ala having anything to do with this sequel and you guys have him down as a writer.
The movie opened amazingly but it was a steep drop off from there.
At times, unintentionally funny.
Drowning in shit?
Really?
The mutants were fun and nice to look at and all the kills weren't THAT bad but the human characters were just boring and unlikeable.
Also, nothing shocking.
At least the remake could boast it had the infamous trailer rape scene.
This one has little to offer compared to its predecessor.
I like this movie for one reason. If you work at a job where you have to change the cherry syrup bags on a frozen drink machine, you can reenact the opening scene. Freakin' great. One star bonus for that.
Badass movie. Sure the dialogue was terrible and some of the actors were pretty bad, but it was well directed and had some excellent gore. Don't expect to take this movie very seriously, just have fun with it

Nowhere compares to the remake one, although the idea of going mostly into the mines was good because there isnt much you can do with the desert mutants and what not. I think a third should be made, direct to dvd, and i think it should focus on the remaining mutants completely running out of human food and fighting each other and killing each other off.
The remake was one of the greatest movies ever made and some people might hate for this but it was better than the original yep i said it. And the sequel well it was not as good as the original but we got a fun ride filled with blood and gore so what do people want from wes craven. Sure the mutants looked a bit like retards because the ones from the original were really smart and fucking scary and the story of this one wasnt very original but there were lots of killings and the soldiers were a bit smart but sometimes cliche and i think the poster was creepie like the original i couldnt stop laughing when a guy appears from the toilet and the other guy scream shit man! so dont be so harsh and just enjoy.
While the original remake was terrible, it still had coherence to a plot, which is something this film has never heard of. An utterly laughable and embarrasingly bad film. The plot is as deformed as the mutants, the characters are carboard props who serve no purpose other than to get hacked to pieces and whose vocabulary ranges from "shit" to "fuck". Terrible film, but the original remake really isn't all that much better, and gore-wise, I actually enjoyed this film a lot more.
The first one was awful enough to have put me off seeing a sequel indefinitely. However, I was trying to find a movie to fall asleep to one night and this happened to be on HBO at like 1 a.m. Sure enough, it put me to sleep. There's just something dull about this, unoriginal and completely pointless. Worse than the first by a great deal and even if I hadn't actually anticipated seeing it, I wish it had been a bit more interesting.
Though maybe I'm being too harsh as I didn't see the entire thing. I fell asleep halfway through.
GOOD AND FUN MOVIE but not as good as the original and some people must stop throwing crap at this movie it was good ok end of the story so stop bitchin about it
"'The Hills Have Eyes 2' is a horror picture about a group of national guard rookies fighting what appears to be cave trolls. The movie starts with a birth-giving scene and contains one and a half rape sequence. That's all you have to know about the plot.
Horrible, cliché ridden and predictable script with dull conversations, bad to mediocre directing and gaping logic holes, racist stereotype characters and monsters that look like trolls from a straight to DVD fantasy movie, rather than mutated freaks, make this movie already a terrible mess when finally a guest appearance of "Sloth" from "The Goonies" hands it the final blow, turning it ultimately hilarious albeit in a tragic kind of way. What's almost as annoying as the cheesy dialogs and terribly bad monster costumes is the CONSTANT use of jump scares at blatantly obvious moments, making them obsolete and lose all the impact they might have had if a more skilled director would have placed them at least a bit more carefully.
Overall this movie is terrible and shouldn't be watched by anyone. " --Captain-Spaulding, imdb.com
I honestly did not like this at all. I was incredibly disappointed after the great, GREAT original movie (erm... can it really be called an "original" movie?). This is truly awful.
More messed up then the first one. Most people didnt like it but I thought it was really good. Acting was really bad though. I mean "Shit Man the Barbarian", who comes up with that shit.
I am not one that is into all the politics or military mumbo jumbo but come on. They actually tried to pull it off. I rented this and I am so glad I didn't buy it. I would have felt almost as dumb as the time I watched the first Hills Have Eyes. Which brings me to my next point....remakes are most likely going to be garbage unless Tom Savini has something to do with it. He should have helped the Cravens out a little, it might not have been this big of a steaming pile of sh**. Speaking of sh**....
the Porto-potty scene was funny, thats it......this one is for the garbage can or you could be more creative than the writing staff and use this disc as a frisbee or coaster for your drink.- MyOwnAutopsy

Awful. Awful. Awful. Can you believe that TWO Cravens (father & son) hatched this on us? The parallels to the Iraq War are laughable and disrespectful. A flacid attempt to keep a lame-ass franchise afloat. A few good kills here and there, but as a whole this cannibal snuff-fest is a miserable experience. Avoid like the plague.
an all right movie. better than the 1985 version but no where near as good as the remake. thhe2 would have been better if Aja stayed. some parts of the movie were violent and bloody. i liked this when i first saw it but after that nope. the movie wasn't a huge dissapointment but could have been alot better. they could have waited for Aja to finish P2 b4 they started making the movie. Aja made the 1st awesome and could made this one awesomer.
