With a budget of $55 million, Blade 2 lived up to the hype with some extra punches added to the dominance of the first. The directing was incredible, the action was non-stop and the soundtrack rocked.
Blade 2 wasn?t as good as the first one, nor equal in value, but still held its own. Thus very entertaining and filled with some incredible moments Blade 2 carries itself as a great movie. Every moment of this movie was filled with action packed karate and gunfire. There was tons of blood and massacres, everything that would make a vampire movie rock.
The downfall was the ?cheesiness?, for example, del Toro decided it would be a good idea to incorporate wrestling movies into the film. This didn?t do anything for the film but hurt it. Besides the wrestling movies, the fight scenes were excellent and very entertaining.
The directing was amazing as well; the camera angles and the acting that came out of this film were out of this world. Wesley Snipes is an incredible vampire, and had a well-supported cast with the return of Whistler. Between the great acting, great directing and the soundtrack, you had a very well put together film.
What could have added to this movie would have been to drop the ?happy? tone down a notch; the movie had too much gear towards children for a rated ?R? movie. Too many jokes, and the wrestling moves, made what could have been a classic movie, just another fun one-time-see movie.
Overall, I really had a great time watching the film, and think it was done very well. I highly recommend checking this flick out, it holds it own and entertains from start to finish.
