Lucky bastards in the UK are going to be treated to Dario Argento's Suspiria on Blu-ray January 18th from Nouveaux Pictures and Cine-Excess, reports DVD Active. This is the perfect Blu-ray movie considering Argento's use of colors. Ok, this is weird? Typically Dimension uses Genius to distribute their DVDs. Now they're using Sony? Good. Blu-rays? Yes. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced rated DVD ($28.96), unrated DVD ($28.96), and Blu-ray editions of Halloween II for January 12th. DVD Active reports that extras on the rated DVD will include deleted and alternate scenes, audition footage, Uncle Seymour Coffins' Stand-Up Routines, a Michael - Interior feature, Captain Clegg and the Night Creatures Music Videos, and a blooper reel. The unrated DVD and Blu-ray will also include an additional commentary with Writer/Director Rob Zombie.
Early word has listed Ruben Fleischer's Zombieland for DVD and Blu-ray release on February 2nd in regular and special editions. No word on extra features, but interviews teased multiple endings and alternate scenes. Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) has made a habit of running from what scares him. Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) doesn’t have fears. If he did, he’d kick their ever-living ass. In a world overrun by zombies, these two are perfectly evolved survivors. Anchor Bay Entertainment has announced DVD ($29.98) and Blu-ray ($39.98) releases of Pandorum which stars Dennis Quaid, and Ben Foster. DVD Active reports that each will be available to own on December 22. Extras will include an audio commentary, a World of Elysium: Behind-the-Scenes featurette, a Flight Team Training Video, deleted and alternate scenes, and still galleries. The Blu-ray release will also include a digital copy of the film. A young crew member awakes from his hyper sleep chamber to discover he's alone on a massive spaceship. He ventures towards the bridge in search of others and to try and figure out what happened.
In the same vein as Dead Space: Downfall, Starz Entertainment is releasing an animated feature film for Dante's Inferno to arrive alongside EA's much anticipated video game. "Inferno" will mirror the game's plot and follow Dante's journey through the nine circles of Hell -- limbo, lust, gluttony, greed, anger, heresy, violence, fraud and treachery -- in search of his true love, Beatrice. New Line Entertainment has announced DVD ($28.98) and Blu-ray ($35.99) releases of The Final Destination for January 5th. DVD Active reports that each will include 2D and 3D versions of the film, along with 2 pairs of 3-D glasses. As far as we know, hte only extra material on the DVD release will be additional scenes. The Blu-ray release will also include alternate endings, a Body Count: The Deaths of The Final Destination featurette, Pre-Visualization/Storyboard Segments, BD-Live features, and a digital copy of the film.
Rob Zombie's Halloween II will be arriving on both DVD and Blu-ray January 12th. No specs or extra features have been announced yet. In separate deals, Genius Products and Alliance Films have acquired US and Canadian rights to the thriller Tell-Tale starring Josh Lucas and produced by Ridley and Tony Scott. Michael Cuesta’s updated tale is based on Edgar Allan Poe’s short story The Tell-Tale Heart and centres on a widower who receives a transplanted heart from a murdered donor. Lena Headey and Brian Cox also star. The film premiered at Tribeca. Yarek Danielak and Matthew Chausse of Mirabelle Pictures International / Arsenal Pictures are selling international rights here at AFM. “We think this film is one of the rare gems of the marketplace which has flown under most people’s radar’s until now,” said Danielak, who recently announced the formation of the specialty sales outfit Mirabelle. “We expect to close a number of deals at the market now that North American distribution is in place.” ...Read More
