I have not heard of Chronicles of Wormwood up until this part, but when you have Garth Ennis writing such a strange script...how can you resist. Look at this cover and tell me you're not at the least a little excited. Full info after the break... ...Read More
Fan favorite Zombies Vs. Robots returns this month with it's new series titled 'Aventure.' Each issue will feature three stories, one funny, one grim, and a third that combines the two. So think of it as a Tales from the Crypt or Zombie Tales with 300 percent more robots. I'm totally cool with that. I, for one, welcome our new zombie robot overlords...
While reading the new comic Freddy, Jason, Ash, Nightmare Warriors; I saw an ad for the new upcoming Army of Darkness comic. Ash Saves Obama brings together two powerhouses this August, Ash Campbell and President Obama. This series like it will be the usually Army of Darkness fare but with the Presdient since Obama is so hot right now in comics. I really don't know what's hotter in comics, zombies or the presdient? We have some pretty big Horror stars gracing us in the comic shops this week. The biggest one I feel is Predator #1, but you might also be interested in Freddy, Jason, Ash Nightmare Warriors #1. Around a year ago, Vincent Price Presents came to the comic book world from Bluewater Productions. I remember thinking it was kind of weird for Vincent Price to do anything since he's been dead for about a decade. Well not even the sweet embrace of death can stop Mr. Price from chilling us to the core. Presents is in the same vein as Creepy or Tales From The Crypt with Price as a host to a set of scary stories. I've read a couple of issues and I actually really liked it a whole lot more compared to the so so stories of the new Tales From the Crypt. Bluewater Productions will be releasing a trade paperback of the past issues this September which would be a great time to check it out. More info after the break... ...Read More
Coming this August 26th from Radical Publishing is another take on the undead. Incarnate #1 looks like it's trying to do it's own spin on vampires. The artwork has a cool dirty manga look that attracted me to it, let's hope it can live up to the hype. More info after the break... ...Read More
When I say comic adaptation of a video game series, a Pavlovian response in most readers is to cringe and/or vomit. One of the few adaptations not to do that was last years' Dead Space comics(which is currently in paperback.) Well the team that brought you that is back to go back to the hell filled with necromorphs with Dead Space: Extraction out September 9. This should be pretty fun but I am sad it's only a one shot...synopsis after the break. ...Read More
The classic horror comic anthology, Creepy Comics, is coming back this summer from Dark Horse Comics. Creepy Comics #1 is coming out July 15. The new series is said to be in the same vein as the original and I hope it is. This could be huge and I feel Dark Horse is up to the task. More info after the break. ...Read More
The rebirth of the Aliens comic series started a couple weeks ago and I really dug the first issue. The first issue was kind of a tease and a lot of foreshadowing, but I'm already hooked. Issue 2 is coming out July 22 and I think I might put myself in stasis until then, I wish I was sharing a stasis pod with Ripley.....Full synopsis after the break. ...Read More
It's slim pickings at the comic shop this week, but there are some diamonds. The biggest one of course would be Marvel Zombies 4 issue 3. The series so far I have dug and I will let you know what I think of it tomorrow. Also you might want to check out Image Comic's Dead at 17 which I recently started reading. Full list after the break... ...Read More
Recently the video game Infamous was released. Infamous tells the story of Cole McGrath, a survivor of a bomb blast but then finds out he has come out of it with electrical powers. Now does Cole use his powers and save his friends/city or does he just destroy it all? The free comic that is available online tells the prequel to the story and fills in some of the cracks the game had. Who doesn't like free?!? ...Read More
Similar to the new Aliens comic series, Dark Horse will be doing the same with the Predator comic series. Coming out June 24, Predator #1 will be showing two waring tribes that has their battleground on *gasp* EARTH!!! I noticed an ad in the new issue of Hack/Slash. In August, Devils Due Publishing is releasing the "Art of Hack/Slash," a 48 page art book celebrating the series with a cover by Tim Seeley. I hope the brunt of the book is the all the movie poster like covers, apparently the quality of the book/paper will be suitable for framing...time will tell. Are you gonna be picking this up?
