Many of you read the blog yesterday and wondered what was in the box.
Even I speculated that Mr. Fed-Ex man would not be brining me my key this morning! 'Cause like I said yesterday...he f'n hates me.
But, like clockwork he did, and I considered asking him to pose with the envelope before he left...but...what can I say. The dude runs back to his truck too fast for me!
Inside the overnight envelope was another black envelope with a (plastic) wax seal. The wax seal (as you might have missed in yesterday's pictures has the initials HHN on it). Inside that envelope was a single silver key.
Most of you noticed that the letter was from Universal Studios Orlando and the items was for the promotion of Halloween Horror Nights 18. The box, if you had not guessed contained the much speculated identity of the host of this year's festivities.
So....what's in the box? Let's check it out!
The Envelope
Inside Was The Famed Key
What's in the Box
The Box Played an Eerie Tune and smelled of Dead Flowers
I See Dead People
On the back are words of warning!
Say Hello to....BLOODY MARY!!!
Inside you can see the box contained a bloody pearl necklace, a bloody lip brush and a series of 4 pictures of folks who probably looked better when they were alive. But what the pictures don't show was the terrifying music that was being played when you opened it!
....when the tinny nightmare sound dragged down to it's close...in the background a whisper chanted Bloody Mary three times!!!
And we have a host...or...er...um...a...hostess.
Now...I'll admit, I already knew who the host was before I opened the box and part of me hoped that inside were my invitations for Press Night!
So in conclusion...I'm sufficiently creeped out by the items that arrived, and thrilled for getting the best promo ever in the past 13 years of writing this stuff....but sad that I still have to wait almost a month before I can go check out the madness that is this year's Halloween Horror Nights!
That's very awesome. The only small thing that they should have done differently was not to have mentioned the Halloween Horror Nights before the key came. However, that box would be very cool to have. On a side note, I've always thought someone should make a decent Bloody Mary movie - I know it's been tried, but they can't go calling it "Bloody Mary". I guess there's "Mirrors" for now...
Yeah..I thought they kinda blew that but since the box came from Universal Studios - Orlando marketing department it really couldn't have been anything else. As for Bloody Mary movies the best one is Candyman!!! Hahahaha. Lionsgate is releasing another one in a few weeks (The Legend of Bloody Mary). I'm gonna watch it later today so a review will be coming soon on that.
While you're in the South, you ought to make a little out-of-the-way trip to The 13th Gate haunted house in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. We were ranked #1 in the nation this year by Hauntworld.com (we beat out HHN, believe it or not). If you're interested, check out www.midnightproduction.com. If you decide it's worth the trip, I'll see to it that you are...taken care of, so to speak.
I unfortunately already sat through "The Legend of Bloody Mary" and it fucking sucks. Please, don't waste your time. It makes The Evil Woods look like Inside. Horrible acting, plot, effects, everything. Not near as bad as Zombies Gone Wild, though!
Considering "behind the mirror" is written on one of the photos, and there is a broken mirror on the inside of the box, I know its a reference to bloody mary coming out from the otherside of the mirror, but did you try to see if there was actually anything behind it?
First off to tedescent08 - NOTING IS AS BAD AS ZOMBIES GONE WILD! Second--I'll check behind the mirror later today and let you all know. Lastly--I'm afraid I still must watch The Legend of Bloody Mary...but now I'm really scared!
Interesting, a Female Figure as the theme. For some reason I thought it was going to be a evil Alice in Wonderland theme when I read 'What Lies Behind The Mirror'
I agree. I don't think even Ulli Lommel could make something worse than ZGW--but then again... Also, Notice how the film's IMDB page has no director listed. i wonder why...
