it looks okay, i must say that without the terrible acting of Govenern arnold im not so sure it'll be that good, he the face of the franchise and i think its gunna die without him.
I can see quite a bit of substance to this film, despite the fact that it's just a trailer. It has a more unique look to it than I thought McG would have but he broke away from his Charlie's Angels movies quite a bit when he did We Are Marshall and that was very good, and it showed McG can direct actors. I can see the same for this movie and he has the quality of actors to pull out a knockout film. I'm very excited about this movie and I can't wait to see it.
I dig Christian Bale but I am not sure that another terminator film is needed the first one was good to me but when they make more and more then it starts to not be good at all but hollywood doesn't always know when to quit.
Dekker and Raven-
I'll be first in line to see it; don't get me wrong. James Cameron has some huge shoes to fill. Mostow wasn't able to do it, even though I did enjoy the film.
As for the show, you have to disregard it for the movie chronology to work. I've heard it's enjoyable; perhaps I'll check out the DVDs.
'Terminator 2' would maintain it's "R" today, for language if nothing else.
Though it can't be argued that the first two films are amongst the greatest science fiction of all time, the first two films were my childhood, so I'm probably biased. It's like Ninja Turtles...I was psyched for a new film...until they actually did it. I imagine I will have the same reaction to a 'Ghostbusters 3' or 'Gremlins 3' if either of those films ever happen.
Hopefully, come spring 2009, McG will put me in my place. I REALLY hope that I'm wrong...
bdwolfe312, you're looking for depth in a trailer...I don't think that's going to work out for ya, mate. I think this trailer looks awesome. Amazing even. Given the fact that McG is known for the Charlie's Angels movies. With We Are Marshall it showed that he could film outside of the style his two previous movies did. This trailer alone shows that as well. You can't knock something until you've actually seen it. Give it a chance before throwing it in the fire. It's like saying a kid won't amount to anything when he's only 5. You're not giving them a chance to show you their potential.
I think it's gonna be sick. And bdwolfe you should actually watch some of the episodes of the show, they throw in a lot for fans of the movies, just about every episode has heavy references. As far as this movie goes though. I don't think it will be toned down at all. None of the terminator movies were super gory, and honestly odds are, if T2 came out today there's a good chance it would be PG13. PG13 horror movies nowadays show more blood and death scenes than any of the terminator movies. Regardless, Bale is the way to go for John Connor, and I can not wait.
Am I the only one who thinks this looks like crap? I mean, this is my most beloved franchise. 'Terminator 3' was pretty awful, but it didn't mess with the chronology too much. A man whose biggest credits are the Charlie's Angels films, and PG-13 on top of that? I must admit, I have not kept up with the tv show either, because I believe it to be pretty blasphemous as well. This film is going to be garbage. The eye candy just doesn't do it for me. It needs substance, and I've seen no evidence of any.
