<description><![CDATA[In separate deals, Genius Products and Alliance Films have acquired US and Canadian rights to the thriller <b><a href+"http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/film/2039">Tell-Tale</a></b> starring Josh Lucas and produced by Ridley and Tony Scott. Michael Cuestas updated tale is based on Edgar Allan Poes short story The Tell-Tale Heart and centres on a widower who receives a transplanted heart from a murdered donor. Lena Headey and Brian Cox also star. The film premiered at Tribeca. Yarek Danielak and Matthew Chausse of Mirabelle Pictures International / Arsenal Pictures are selling international rights here at AFM. <i>We think this film is one of the rare gems of the marketplace which has flown under most peoples radars until now,</i> said Danielak, who recently announced the formation of the specialty sales outfit Mirabelle. <i>We expect to close a number of deals at the market now that North American distribution is in place.</i>]]></description>

THR's Heath Vision Blog reports that David Fincher is attached to direct the new adaptation of the Max Ehrlich novel, which will be penned by Andrew Kevin Walker (<i>The Wolfman</i>). <i>Proud</i> centers on a college professor who begins having recurring dreams and nightmares and, realizing they are images of a past life, decides to search out the source of the visions. With his girlfriend in tow, he discovers a woman and her grown-up daughter who are keys to his past life. The supernatural thriller drew heat for a subplot involving incest. Fincher will produce with Michael De Luca. Fincher and Walker respectively directed and wrote the 1995 thriller "Seven" for New Line when De Luca was its president of production. ]]></description>

The pic, which is being screened for international buyers at the American Film Market, stars Nikki Reed (<i>Twilight, Twilight Saga: The New Moon</i>), Betsy Russell (<i>Saw</i> franchise) and Brad Dourif (<i>Child's Play</i>). The storyline follows a serial killer who preys on teenagers. His target: Teens who fail to forward a chain letter. New Films considers <i>Chain Letter</i> a pic with franchise possibilities, according to Taylor and the firm's prexy Nesim Hason. We caught a look at the promo trailer for the flick that's being pitched as a horror film in the vein of <i>Cloverfield</i> and <i>Blair Witch Project</i>. The story concerns an evangelical minister who turns against religion and decides to participate in a documentary in which he practices his last exorcism. The footage we saw looked like <i>REC</i> meets <i>Exorcist</i> x 500. I hope it's as good as it looks!
