Ed Sánchez and Dan Myrick Look Back at 'Blair Witch'
"This year THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT celebrates its 10th Anniversary. Earlier this month we brought you our retrospective discussing BLAIR’s influence on the horror genre and indie filmmaking at large. Today BLOODY-DISGUSTING goes to the men behind BLAIR WITCH, co-directors Ed Sánchez and Dan Myrick, to talk about their recollections of the phenomenon and discuss the ongoing legacy of their ground-breaking little DV movie that could."

The Shrine: A Visit to the Set in Toronto
"It can’t be easy to make a sophomore film especially if your debut feature happened to be successful. Most filmmakers opt to play it safe by either making a sequel or a film in a similar vain. Brookstreet Pictures, an independent Canada-based production company, just happen to be responsible for cult hit, "Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer." That film charmed audiences with its campy sense of humor and terrific old-school creature effects. For their second feature, "The Shrine", Brookstreet have decided on a dark and serious tone while still sticking to the horror genre."

Not Quite Hollywood: Director Mike Hartley
"NOT QUITE HOLLYWOOD is the wild, untold story of "OZPLOITATION" movies - a time when Australian cinema got its gear off and showed the world a full-frontal explosion of sex, violence, horror and foot-to-the-floor, full bore action! Jam packed full of outrageous anecdotes, lessons in maverick filmmaking and a genuine, infectious love of Australian movies, NOT QUITE HOLLYWOOD is a fast moving journey through Aussie genre cinema of the 70s and early 80s - an unjustly forgotten cinematic era unashamedly packed full of boobs, pubes, tubes... and even a little kung fu."

Horror's Hallowed Grounds: Dawn of the Dead (1978)
"I have visited the mall three times, first in 1992, then in 2002 and most recently during HorrorHound Weekend in July 2008. I felt that with the photos I had taken during all three trips I had enough to make this article happen. I did but I will say it was the most frustrating article yet. I literally had to watch the film and match up my photos as best I could with scenes from the movie."

The Crazies: Bloody Disgusting Set Visit Report
"In this scene we’re lining up, basically heading to the concentration camp and we don’t know what’s going to happen to us," explains Radha Mitchell. "There’s been this situation where this chemical weapon has been dumped into the water supply system. This town has been infected, so everyone is sort of victimized by that situation."

Drag Me to Hell: Bloody-Disgusting Set Visit Report
"There's a bunch of people and candelabras and spooky wind blowing," adds Special Effects Supervisor Greg Nicotero. "Then you watch the way that [Raimi] shoots it and the fact that he'll put the camera on one person and then travel all the way at then person and then he'll zoom in and he'll go to the next person and [do the same thing]."

Horror's Hallowed Grounds: A Nightmare on Elm Street
"A Nightmare on Elm Street is arguably writer/director Wes Craven’s most popular creation to date but it was also his hardest to get made. Wes shopped the project around for a couple of years to see it turned down by every studio until Bob Shaye came along. Shaye thought Nightmare would be a good fit for his new company New Line Cinema and he was right. Nightmare ended up putting New Line on the map and is now referred to as the house that Freddy built."

It's 6 in the morning on May 9 and the sun is on the rise after a nearly twelve-hour shoot on the set of Platinum Dunes' FRIDAY THE 13TH, which is currently lensing in Austin, Texas."

Friday the 13th (2009) Set Report Part 2: Tonight's Scenes
"The night before, the token "teens" had spent the entire night shooting a tough sequence inside the house, which is owned by the character Trent's (Travis Van Winkle) parents. Trent is a ladies man, looking to score with one of the girls he has wooed to the cabin."

Friday the 13th (2009) Set Report Part 3: The Mythology
"One of the things that come with a FRIDAY the 13th film is not only crazy kills, but also an insane amount of nudity. Everyone involved ensured the fans get a heavy does of both in an attempt to keep the integrity of the franchise intact."

Horror's Hallowed Grounds: Halloween III Season of the Witch
"After the success of John Carpenter’s Halloween the producer’s looked to try and capitalize on their success by exploring “More of the night He came home.” Carpenter wasn’t interested in continuing the story of Michael Myers but decided to co-write the script with Debra Hill and come on as a producer."

Ghost Hunting 101
Do you hear bumps in the night? Does your hair stand on end when you walk into a room? Maybe you feel as if someone is watching you or perhaps you think you see someone out the corner of your eye, but when you turn to look no one is there? What you may be encountering in those unsettling moments is a ghost."

Final Destination 4: B-D Visits the Set in New Orleans
"Perry claims that "Final Destination 4 will mercilessly bitch slap the 3D “My Bloody Valentine” remake into submission" and seemed to exhibit a healthy competitive attitude towards the film. “Listen, I feel like some of these other 3D films were just rushed into production. We have planned… seriously. We will own any other 3D horror film that tries to oppose us."

The Bleeding: A Visit to the Set in Wilmington, NC
"After an experience with my local airport security that was strongly reminiscent of the booking scene in FIRST BLOOD, I'm anticipating my visit to the Wilmington set of THE BLEEDING with a sort of queasy excitement. Although the leads, Matthias and the uber-stunning Rachelle Leah, are relatively unknown, the movie is jam-packed with cult figures like Michael Madsen, Vinnie Jones, Armand Assante, DMX, and Kat Von D; everybody involved oozes infectious passion for the project."

Splice: Nelson reports in from the set in Toronto!
"I must say that I was looking forward to visiting the set of the new Vincenzo Natali pic, Splice but I can also say that I was disappointed with the weather that greeted me that morning. Of course, the day I was scheduled to visit happened to be the coldest day Toronto has seen in years, roughly -34 Celsius. Thanks god. What was also disappointing was that I was not allowed to take any pictures. Sorry."

Horror's Hallowed Grounds: Return of the Living Dead
"The 2003 film 28 Days Later was credited for starting the trend of “running zombies” but in fact it was Dan O’Bannon’s Return of the Living Dead that may not have set the trend but did do it first."

Joy Ride: End of the Road - B-D Visits the Set in Vancouver!
"As usual, my adventure to the set was an interesting (and complicated) one, so if you’re not into the whole AICN “here’s how my day went” type report, I recommend scrolling down a bit – but you're going to miss one hell of a story."

Repo! The Genetic Opera: Set Report Part 2

Repo! The Genetic Opera: Set Report Part 1
"When Bloody-Disgusting was asked to do a set visit and press conference for Darren Bousman’s film, REPO! The Genetic Opera, I begged and pleaded with Mr. Disgusting to let me go. I want this film to be good in such a bad way that it’s almost embarrassing."

Plague Town: B-D Reports From Set
"Plague Town looks like it's going to be a blast. It appears to be very finely tuned, down the last aspect. David seems to have a very precise vision of what he wants. There is never any daunting uncertainty surrounding the shoot, which makes the production, from what I saw, run very smoothly."

Come On Hollywood, Make These Movies Already!
"A list of films I want to see made and don't understand what's taking so long. Hollywood listen up, you need to make these films and you need to make them now. We're sick of your penny pinching bullsh-t. Grow some balls and give the fans what they want."

Otis: On Set in Los Angeles With Cast and Crew
"So back to set, where Morton is tied up; Riley’s parents, Daniel Stern and Illeana Douglas, are on the scene along with her brother Reed (Jared Kusnitz). They are in the process of torturing him and attempting to get their revenge. Illeana is screaming at him referencing Albert Fish, the Brooklyn Vampire..."

Resident Evil: Extinction - Set Report From Mexico City
"After it was all said and done and I digested everything that was thrown at me, I felt as if Extinction is a serious case of zombie vomit. Take every zombie movie/franchise you can think of, pull out a scene here and there and then assemble it in a way that it works with Anderson’s plot,"

Diary of the Dead: Zombies Attack on Romero's Set!
"I didn’t know what to expect when I met him. He’s such an interesting guy, you know. In many ways, he’s the least macabre person you could think of. If you were introduced to him at somebody’s house, I don’t think you would immediately assume that he had reinvented the horror genre."
