Some must haves are Frank Darabont's THE MIST, the classic Bob Clark X-mas slasher BLACK CHRISTMAS, Warner Bros. BEETLEJUICE and POLLTERGIEST. A real treat if you can muster blowing $40 on a Blu-ray is Tim Burton's NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, which is mind-blowing in HD. But if you just got your hands on a player and need to see why you'll never watch a DVD agaim, go check out the remastered Blu-ray release of THE SHINING. What would it look like if Kubrick released the film this year? Now you know...

REPO! THE GENETIC OPERA Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

This rock opera boasts an entirely original soundtrack for Lionsgate's REPO! THE GENETIC OPERA that blends equal parts goth and punk rock to form an eerie and powerful musical narrative. All of the actors performed their own songs, and the music was provided by an all-star lineup that features performances from Richard Patrick (Filter), Steven Perkins (Jane's Addiction), Clown (Slipknot), Ray Luzier (Army of Anyone), Brian Young (David Lee Roth's band), Richard Fortus (Guns & Roses), Sonny Moore (First to Last), David J (Bauhaus/Love & Rockets), Daniel Ash (Love & Rockets), Blasko (Ozzy Osborne), Tommy Clefetus (Rob Zombie's band), Melora Creager (Rasputina). Also lending her voice to the soundtrack is the edgy pop star Poe. Japanese musician and composer Yoshiki Haysahi (of the legendary rock band X-Japan) co-produced the music with Joe Bishara to create one of the most diverse soundtracks in movie history. The CD features a whopping 22 tracks and will help you sing along when the Blu-ray hits stores in January.

LET SLEEPING CORPSES LIE White Zombie Box Set

White Zombie. The musical horrorshow that mixed dark pop culture with metallic hard rock has been resurrected on the 4-CD/1-DVD box set LET SLEEPING CORPSES LIE (Geffen/UMe), released November 25, 2008. The CDs bring together for the first time all 64 original studio recordings released by the band led by Rob Zombie during its 1985-1996 career. The DVD offers nine music videos, 10 live performances, and some hidden gems. From what I've been told, the music has been completely remastered and sounds brilliant, although I have yet to hear it with my own two ears. If what they say is true, I'd move this higher up on my list - the original recordings really do sound terrible.

CANNIBAL: THE MUSICAL 13th Anniversary DVD (2-disc)

Before there was South Park, there was Trey Parker's macabre musical comedy masterpiece Cannibal the Musical! Based on the legend of Colorado Cannibal Alferd Packer, Cannibal the Musical tells Packer's version of what really happened when he and a group of gold diggers embarked on their fateful trip into the Rocky Mountains. Gruesomely gory, savagely satirical and painfully funny, Cannibal the Musical, which also stars South Park s co-creator Matt Stone, stands as a predecessor to what would come next for Parker and Stone, and features several in-jokes that would become part of the South Park legacy! Cannibal the Musical has become a worldwide cult sensation to rival The Rocky Horror Picture Show, inspiring stage revivals and sing-along screenings all over the world! This 2-Disc Special Anniversary Edition contains over an hour of new, in depth interviews with Trey Parker, Matt Stone, and Jason McHugh, two full-length commentary tracks including the infamous 'Inebriated' commentary track, never-before-seen deleted scenes, production stills, and much more!
