Personally i think INLAND EMPIRE is a complete mess of a movie. I know in some circles it’s heralded as a 5 star classic but it left me confused like no other Lynch movie has before.
There are a lot of good themes and ideas present and Laura Derns performance is fantastic, but overall it felt like Lynch was just throwing shit against the wall…[Read more]

thats the only movie i havent seen,
of all movies that i have seen, i felt wild at heart was his weakest. nicolas cage does provide a weird and wonderful character, ironically through his bad acting.*downloads inland empire*
-
Huge miss.
If the pseudo intellectual hipster douchebags of the world want to regale it a 5 star classic, they can have it.
Makes it easier to identify the people who really like Lynch against those who just want to suck his dick for namedropping value. -
Well said Fry.
Kyuss, don’t waste your time downloading. It’s really not worth it.
I just hope that Lynch doesn’t stay in this experimental phase. -
download cancelled.
have you watched his short films yet? grandmother and rabbits.
if you have seen doki66s salad finger, i think he got inspirations from grandmother
-
As far as ‘experimenting’ goes, DL’s earned the right, as far as I’m concerned. INLAND EMPIRE though didn’t strike me so much as ‘experimental’ as much as it felt like him just going through the motions, reusing the same ‘aren’t I weird’ tricks he’s used a million times in his previous films to greater effect. Like a bloated, boring ‘greatest…[Read more]

He’s definitely reached the point in his career where he can ‘experiement’ but IE just has no soul to it. It is a ‘greatest hits’ compilation of all of his themes and motifs but there is no logic or reason stitching them together. Maybe he just had to get all of his old material into one film so he can move on to the next phase of his career.
-
not as good as LH & MD, but still a brillant masterpiece
-
It’s not his best film, but it works on a cerebral level unlike any film I’ve ever seen.
It’s haunting, beautiful, and fucking scary.
-
Just in theaters I saw it three times. I love it. But I’ve given up trying to understand it. It’s expressionistic and experimental but it’s such an interesting trip. Just let it wash over you and it’ll creep you out. Great performance from Laura Dern too. I think it’s absurd for people to say that one should ignore this movie and that it has…[Read more]

Part of the problem is this was supposed to be a t.v. show like Twin Peaks. However the networks in their infinite stupidity turned it down. Saying it made no sense, was unmarketable etc. So, what David did was take the most important story lines, and fuse them together into a full length movie. It’s alittle hard to watch, as it’s really…[Read more]

David Lynch Fans January 22, 2010 6:29 ammine has got to be mulholland drive, first movie i saw from him.
-
Mulholland Drive is definitely his best movie but my personal fave is Lost Highway. Why? because it was the first Lynch film i saw on the big screen and it had such an impact on me. The final scenes left me shaking.
-
that was scarier than any horror movie i ever saw. when the mysterious man films the main protaganist. i m not sure if lost highway was a horror movie, it defiently is to me. and much more.
-
I consider Lost Highway to be noir horror.
-
The Elephant Man and Mulholland Drive.
-
Wild At Heart gets a lot of hate and i don’t understand why. I rank it along side all of his others as one of his best. I think it’s obvious Lynch was having a lot of fun with it as it’s a cartoonish type of film, but it really showcases his knack for black comedy.
-
Ereaserhead! words to sum up how i feel when i see this?
Creepy. Nightmarish. Eerie. Unsettling -
Lost Highway is my personal favorite….Robert Blake is just so creepy in this.
-
lost highway was a fuckin trip. lol. had no idea wat was happening!
-
no doubt: Lost Highway
-
Definitely Blue Velvet, Frank Booth has to be one of the greatest villains ever.
-
Mulholland Drive is right up there, followed by Lost Highway, and for a little change of pace,The Straight Story,
-
i can’t choose just one!
wild at heart, lost highway, and twin peaks.
i do like mulholland drive, but it’s probably one of my least favorite lynch films. -
To this day Mulholland Drive blows mind like no other movie can. The threatre scene is pure brilliance and from there on in it’s fucking on.
-
Lost Highway, that film is Amazing!!
-
I saw Lost Highway at a party when someone put it in. I didn’t move till it was over and it was such a mindfuck. Then Mulholland Drive came out and took it to another level!!!
